Slingers
While pregnant I had coveted so many of the beautiful hand-sewn slings over on etsy. Overwhelmed with the variety of interesting fabrics, I was unable to make a decision. Until about day 5 of being overdue, that is! I jumped in and purchased a beautiful ring sling from Serendipity Slings.
OUr dog, Big Martha, managed to chew up the instructions while we were away at the hospital, so after watching a couple of clips on You Tube, we were in business!
I think she likes it! And I know I do. I was able to accomplish the following tasks while wearing Peaceful Baby:
- checked email
- ate breakfast
- went to the bathroom
- walked around hands-free
- nursed
The best part is she feels so snuggly and secure against me. Also, I can feel the tightness in the muscles of my upper back relaxing from the tense bundle they have become as I hunched forward to cradle and feed PB. This puts my upper body in a better posture, and I am able to relax my arms and get more comfortable.

I’d totally use a sling. I long to use a sling! I took my niece to the shops last week in the pram and honestly, it was a nightmare. Trying to find ways around the shops, up lifts instead of esculators was horrible. I’d use a sling instead very happily!

Congratulations on the birth of your very beautiful baby. I loved using slings with my babies (I have 7 children) – one in particular had colic for the first 6 weeks and carrying her around all day kept her happy. Very easy to sit and breastfeed and knit too with baby still in the sling.
